I am a New York State licensed psychoanalyst and psychotherapist. With a grounding in Gestalt practices, I appreciate the many ways that we hold and react to our emotions within our bodies. I also understand the power, and limits, of our rational, logical selves.

Together, we’ll work to find a new balance between thinking and feeling, drawing on the wisdom found in both.

I work well with people who are prone to overthinking, who feel disconnected from themselves, or who are struggling with overwhelm. My combination of somatic, embodied techniques and acceptance-focussed therapy will help you to be present to yourself—and those around you—in ways that feel manageable and rewarding. My clients appreciate the renewed sense of peace, connection, and energy that this allows for.

Léon Digard, Compassionate psychotherapy in New York for anxiety, depression, grief, relationship challenges, and LGBTQ+ issues

I completed my clinical education at the Gestalt Center for Psychotherapy and Training, where I am now an adjunct faculty member. In addition, I hold a BSc in Psychology (University of London) and an MPhil and PhD in Criminology (University of Cambridge).

Originally from the UK, I moved to New York in 2010. My background working as a researcher in prisons and jails has given me a deep appreciation of the systems of oppression and trauma that pervade the country. More than that, time in those spaces taught me invaluable lessons about the power of resilience and compassion—and how community and human connection are crucial to our success. We are always stronger together.

I look forward to connecting with you!
